

Title & Registrations
Required Documentation (New Mexico)
Please bring the following items to complete your transaction:
1. Identification
One (1) valid New Mexico driver's license or ID for each person listed on the title.
2. Proof of Insurance
Current auto insurance card (paper copy required). Digital copies may be emailed to info@dmvtitleexperts.com prior to your visit.
3. Vehicle Title
New Mexico vehicle title required. For out-of-state titles, see additional requirements below.
For Leased or Financed Vehicles:

We must obtain the title directly from your lienholder before processing

Title Processing Department name

Fax number and mailing address

Processing time: 2-8 weeks depending on lienholder

We recommend contacting your finance company regularly to ensure timely processing
4. Bill of Sale (if applicable)
Required when no title is available or odometer reading is missing from title. Use MVD Form 10009 - available for download and completion prior to your visit.
Please ensure all documentation is complete and accurate to avoid processing delays.
Out-Of-State Title & Registrations
Required Documentation for Out-of-State Title Transfer
1. Identification
New Mexico Driver's License or ID required.
If you do not hold a New Mexico driver's license:

Two (2) proofs of New Mexico residency required

Acceptable documents: utility bill, insurance statement, bank statement, lease agreement, phone/internet bill, school registration, pay stub, or similar
2. Original Vehicle Title
For Leased or Financed Vehicles:

We must obtain the title directly from your lienholder before processing

3. Proof of Insurance
New Mexico insurance OR out-of-state insurance meeting New Mexico minimum requirements:

$25,000 bodily injury/death per person

$50,000 bodily injury/death for multiple persons
-
$10,000 property damage per accident
For out-of-state insurance: Declaration page showing coverage meets or exceeds these requirements.
4. VIN Inspection
Required for all out-of-state titles. Please bring your vehicle for inspection during registration, or mobile VIN inspection available for additional cost.
