Title & Registrations

Here are the documents you will need to bring:
 
1. ONE (1) VALID NEW MEXICO DRIVER’S LICENSE OR ID FOR EACH PERSON THAT WILL BE ON THE TITLE.
 
2. ONE (1) PROOF OF INSURANCE – CURRENT AUTO INSURANCE CARD (PAPER COPY)

3. NEW MEXICO VEHICLE TITLE (If Title is from another state, see the next sections)

  • If  the title is leased or financed, we will need to contact the Lienholder to  send the title to us first, before we can transfer and register your  vehicle. 

  • Please contact and obtain the following from your Lienholders:

 

Name, FAX number, & address of the Title Processing Department. Call your lienholder to verify what that information is before starting this process.
 

  *Please note: This is dependent on your Lienholder, and could take anywhere from 2 weeks to 8 weeks – we encourage you to continue to contact your finance company regularly to ensure they received the request, and that they have mailed out your vehicle title in a timely manner.



4. BILL OF SALE  (If you do not have a title or odometer reading on title)
                      Print and Fill Out Bill of Sale:  MVD Form 10009 

Out-Of-State Title & Registrations

1.Your Driver’s License or ID 

       If you do not currently hold an NM Driver’s License, then we will need:

      (2) Proofs of residency showing your address in NM:

 

  • Utility  Bill, Insurance, Bank Statement, Lease agreement, Phone or internet bill, school registration, pay stub, etc. 

 

2. Original Title

 

  • If  the title is leased or financed, we will need to contact the Lienholder to  send the title to us first, before we can transfer and register your  vehicle. 

  • Please  contact and obtain the following from your Lienholders:

 

Name, FAX number, & address of the Title Processing Department (once we receive your title from them, we will call you)

 

*Please note: This process is dependent on your Lienholder, and could take anywhere from 2 weeks to 8 weeks – we encourage you to continue to contact your finance company regularly to ensure they received the request, and that they have mailed out your vehicle title in a timely manner.

 

3. Insurance on the vehicle– either from New Mexico OR if from another state, it must meet New Mexico Standards of:

 

  • $25,000 for bodily injury to or  death of one person,

  • $50,000 for bodily injury to or  death of two or more persons, and.

  • $10,000 for property damage in  any one accident.

 

We need the declaration page from your insurance company showing it meets or exceeds this requirement if it is OUT OF STATE. 

 

 

4. VIN Inspection: 

      A VIN Inspection will need to be completed on all vehicles with titles from out of New Mexico. Please          bring the vehicle at the time of registration. We will conduct the inspection at that time. If you cannot          bring the vehicle, we can provide MOBILE VIN inspection at an additional cost.

 

State registration and fees will be determined by the State of New Mexico. We also do charge a $32 convenience fee per transaction, and a $32 VIN Inspection Fee
